After the St. Louis Blues received a very generous gift from the Pittsburgh Penguins in mid-March, there is an opportunity to get an even bigger gift tonight. These two teams face off once again, and this time, history is at stake.

If the Blues can win this game, they will tie the 2018-19 Blues with an 11-game win streak. This would be an incredible feat, considering the fact that the Blues could not win more than two games in a row for most of the season.

Let's give this game a preview.

Tie franchise record

The Blues are obviously looking at the bigger picture. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are right around the corner, and the race for the first wildcard spot in the Western Conference is tied up with the Minnesota Wild at 89 points. But the fanbase, as well as the players, want this record to happen and for it to happen on home ice.

After seeing the debuts of both Dalibor Dvorsky and Jimmy Snuggerud this past week and their changes, both players will start to phase back to the minors. That means that the full squad will be out every night from now on through the playoffs.

The stakes are high, and with three very important games coming up, the Blues will have to be at their best with every game. Let's focus on the record and see if this team can repeat the same fortune given to that 2018-19 team.

The Penguins can give the Blues a very generous gift, as they have fallen behind in the Eastern Conference playoff race. They are eight points behind Montreal for the second wildcard spot, but their time is running out. This should be a relatively easy game for the Blues to emerge victorious, but the pressure to get their 11th win might get to them.

Can the Blues make history?
