Nightly, the same names come across the same ticker at the bottom of the screen. Jordan Kyrou, Cam Fowler, Braden Schenn, Robert Thomas, and Dylan Holloway have been on a tear as of late, carrying this team to a winning record. This team is in desperate need of secondary scoring, and there are quite a few other names that can step up to the plate.
Who can step up?
Outside of those five names listed above are a slew of players that are unusually quiet as of the past couple of games. We all got to see one of those under-the-radar players in the 4-0 win against Ottawa, Brandon Saad. His hat-trick was incredible to witness, and his specialty of scoring in bunches is a plus, but also a double-edge sword. Consistency would benefit the Blues in a big way.
Another player that has gone dormant recently in the goal-scoring department is Pavel Buchnevich. He last scored on December 19 against Tampa Bay, so he is certainly another player that could help pick up some of the scoring slack.
The last name that jumps off the page is a player who has been playing great hockey lately but just hasn't been able to find the back of the net. Alexandre Texiere is a great player, not a guy who is known for goal-scoring, but certainly capable of it. He has scored two of his three goals on the year in the past five games. You have to expect him to stay hot over the next couple of games.
Who else can step up for the Blues to help alleviate the pressure on the core players?
