The St. Louis Blues took one up on one of the potential teams getting in the way of sneaking into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Calgary Flames. Now, back at home in the Enterprise Center, the Blues are going to get a chance to get even closer, with another match-up against Calgary.

The Blues, currently at 21-20-4, for 46 points, sit just three points out of the second wildcard spot. The Flames, at 21-15-7 for 49 points, occupy that final spot. On Tuesday night, St. Louis got the upper hand and stole two points away from Calgary with a miraculous goal from Radek Faksa to secure the win 2-1.

Let's get the popcorn ready and brace ourselves for the biggest Blues game of the year.

Wild Card Implications

This is what it is all about. If the Blues can pull this off, they can come just one point back of the final wildcard spot. This would also put them in a tie with Vancouver Canucks, at 48 points a piece. Things are starting to heat up as the calendar has turned to 2025.

Despite a lot of chatter about the previous 60 minutes between these two iconic franchises, it did not give off that vibe. But, with tonight's tilt meaning that much more to both teams, this is going to be a flat-out brawl.

Each team is going to have to bring their all in this one, in all facets of the game.

Most important game of the year?

To date, with the excitement of opening night and the majesty of playing under the lights at Wrigley Field, this is going to be the biggest game of the year. This can either bury the Blues back to being a .500 team for the rest of the season or catapult them to being within arm's length of a playoff spot.

The most important player on the ice tonight is going to be goaltender Jordan Binnington. He is going to have to be light out once again if the Blues want to have any chance of winning this game. He stopped 26 of 27 last time around, and now he has a unique situation of facing the same team immediately after. Whatever he cheated on or left open for the opposition is now out in the open and the Flames memories.

Puck drop is at 7:00 PM CT. You are not going to want to miss this.
