The St. Louis Blues first-round pick in 2025, Justin Carbonneau, had an incredible season for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armadaof the QMJHL. Now, as his team is in the playoffs as the second seed in the Western Conference, he can complete his Junior Hockey career with a huge accomplishment.

The Armada swept their first round opponent, Victoriaville, and it was a lot closer than anticipated. Carbonneau was tied for the QMJHL's top-spot in goals, with Maxim Massé of the Chicoutimi Sagueneen at 51 goals. Carbonneau gets the edge here over the Anaheim Ducks prospect, due to playing in three less games.

Opening round sweep

In the opening sweep of the QMJHL Playoffs, Carbonneau was an x-factor. With three goals and four assists for seven points, he was the second-highest point-getter for his team. He also led the team in penalty minutes as well, with 10.

Now, it is onto the second round, which will begin on Thursday against the Newfoundland Regiment. In two games against his second-round matchup in the regular season, Carbonneau had three goals and two assists for five points. Expect him to light up the scoresheet once again in this series.

Arrival to the Blues?

As far as how it looks for his arrival with the St. Louis Blues, it is starting to look very doubtful for Carbonneau to make his NHL debut this season. The Blues are not out of contention for a playoff spot, yet, although their chances are very slim.

Plus, this series against Newfoundland could keep Carbonneau with the Armada until game four of this series, which is on April 14. Game five, if need be, will be on April 17. The Blues regular season ends on April 15 against Utah.

The math just isn't lining up for this dream to become a reality.
