As an annual tradition, the St. Louis Blues are joining the fight against Cancer with Hockey Fights Cancer night against the Nashville Predators. It will be a night of celebration and awareness for fans inside the Enterprise Center and at home.

Notably, Kelly Chase has been an advocate for the Blues organization in support of Hockey Fights Cancer; he, himself, is battling Leukemia.

He spent eight seasons, in two different stints, in the Blue Note and made his mark as a legend in this franchise’s history. After his playing career was over, he joined as the color commentator for the radio broadcasts on KMOX radio in St. Louis.

You should expect to see and hear a lot of Chase in this game.

My Story

Hockey Fights Cancer night is a big event every single year, and for the last three years, it has been a bit different for me. I was diagnosed in April of 2022 with Tesitcular Cancer, just two weeks after finding out that my Fiancé and I were expecting our first daughter.

Hockey has always been a big part of my life, both on the rink and in front of these keys on this keyboard. But when my doctor informed me of this disease, it changed my perception of it. It changed my perception of why Sports, and the NHL specifically, hold these kinds of events to a higher standard.

Luckily for me, I was in front of my diagnosis and caught it really early. I had a rough road, but as I would find out later on in my journey, it was not as bad as others. So, now, when an NHL team hosts their night to honor those who won, lost, and are fighting this terrible disease, I tune in to hear the stories.

Now, after so many years of watching this game and not paying enough attention to this night, I am now a part of it.
