The St. Louis Blues are one of the hottest teams in hockey right now and are showing no signs of slowing down. Tonight’s opponent, is the Stanley Cup runner-up, the Edmonton Oilers.

The Blues will have their hands full with the Oilers devastating 1-2 punch in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Can they keep their hot streak alive, and continue their pursuit to a miraculous playoff appearance?

Preview

After securing points in their last five games, the Blues now turn their eyes to an Edmonton team chock full of talent. But, we must not forget that no team is hotter than the Blues right now.

The Blues, 13-12-2 for 28 points, currently are tied for fourth position in the Western Conference’s Central Division with the Colorado Avalanche. Their opponents, Edmonton, have a record of 14-10-2 for 30 points. The Pacific Division is a very tight race, with only three points separating the Oilers from being a second-place team, as opposed to their current fifth-place standing.

These past few games have been fueled by a fiery offense that is clicking on all cylinders. Up and down the lineup, there is no shortage of positive performances. And under a new leader, Head Coach Jim Montgomery, the players are flawlessly responding to the transition.

Who To Watch For

All eyes will be on both Philip Broberg and Dylan Halloway in their return to their former team’s barn. Both were Oilers last season and were both offer sheeted by the Blues this past offseason. Since coming over, they are both excellent players who have made a large impact this season, particularly during this five-game point streak.

Another player to look out for is a lot of people's biggest difference maker this season, goaltender Jordan Binnington. At 8-9-2 on the year, he is rapidly working his back to being a winning goaltender. His save percentage has also raised from being a dreaded .899 to .900. He, alongside backup goalie Joel Hofer, have been great in net over the past couple of weeks.

Puck drop is expected at 9 p.m. CST and will be aired on FanDuel Sports Network Midwest.
