There were thousands of goals scored in the 2024-25 NHL season, and the St. Louis Blues scored one of the best.

The NHL has been counting down the top 50 goals of the 2024-25 season over the past few weeks, and we've been waiting to see where the Blues' impressive mid-air goal would rank.

Well, we finally got our answer over the weekend as the NHL started the top five goals of the season with the Blues' beauty.

Robert Thomas directed the puck over the goal line after it hit the cross-bar, and that was only the filthy finish. Dylan Holloway and Jordan Kyrou also showed off their hand-eye coordination and got credit for assists on the goal.

And it was a rather important goal for the Blues. There had yet to be any score early in the second period as they hosted the Blackhawks, and Thomas' goal got the scoring started in a 4-1 win over Chicago.

That victory on March 22 was the Blues' fifth in a row, and, of course, they wouldn't lose again until April 7 against the Winnipeg Jets. That 12-game winning streak helped catapult the Blues into the playoffs, where, unfortunately, their run ended once again at the hands of the Jets.

The impressive goal was the 18th of the season for Thomas, who finished with 21 goals and 60 assists for 81 points in just 70 games.

Let's hope to see even more goals like this one in the upcoming season.
