The St. Louis Blues recently lost to the New York Rangers, 3-2, and have one more game left on their season-long five-game road trip. It has been a successful run thus far, with a 1-1-2 record for four points, and a trip to Newark, New Jersey, and the Devils is next up before Thanksgiving.
Here is a roundup from the fallout of the loss against the Rangers, and a little swoop around the league regarding a fellow NHL team with goaltending issues.
Blues News
- There were a couple of Blues named on a trade board from Sportsnet, and it might make sense for the Blues to persue it. General Manager Doug Armstrong has a lot of decisions to make, and he has to make them fast as the Blues are still scraping the bottom of the NHL.
- Philip Broberg has been stellar this season, and each positive performance is only lining his pockets with more money. With his future financial situaiton in the palm of his hands, he is making the Blues front office start to consider signing him now, rather than later.
- After losing to the New York Rangers, 3-2, captain Brayden Schenn is now on a two-game goal streak. With four goals on the season, and four assists as well, is he doing enough for this team?
- The tryout of Milan Lucic with the AHL-affiliate Springfield has been terminated by the Blues. In 5 games, he had an assist and was minus-7 on the ice, ultimately pushing himself out of an NHL comeback.
NHL News
- Speaking of goaltending, there is an NHL team that might be going through as much pain and misery as Blues fans right now, and that is the Edmonton Oilers. After getting torched by Dallas, 8-3, and your captain and generational talent mirroring that of the great Wayne Gretzky speaks like this to the media after the game, it is apparent that the Oilers are free-falling.
"I don’t have any answers."
