Blues prospect report: Dagenais and Stevens lead offensive surge

With the hockey calendar ramping up across major junior and European leagues, the St. Louis Blues prospects have begun to leave training camps and officially kick off their regular seasons. Over the past week, forward prospects Maddox Dagenais and Carter Stevens led the way with multi-point weekends, taking home the highest point-producer honors for the week.

On the other end of the ice, the Blues' goaltending pipeline has seen some very encouraging notes early on. Netminder Vladimir Proskurin delivered a standout performance in his Western Hockey League debut, while Swedish prospects Marcus Gidlöf and Love Härenstam have played very steady games between the pipes in HockeyAllsvenskan.

Here is the breakdown for how the Blues' prospects have faired over the past week.

QMJHL

Maddox Dagenais (RW)
Weekly Stats: 2 GP | 2g, 2a | 4pts | 11 SOG

Maddox Dagenais is back in the QMJHL and has picked up where he left off after scoring 62 points in 62 games a season ago. Over the past week, Dagenais recorded a four-point outing on Friday, scoring two goals and two assists with nine shots over Shawinigan.

He was held off the scoresheet on Sunday in the 5-4 OTW over Rimouski, Dagenais' high-shooting performances over the first two games of the season is a good sign of things to come for his 2026-27 campaign.

OHL

Carter Stevens (C/RW)

Season Stats: 4 GP | 1g, 3a | 4pts | 9 SOG

Stevens has come out strong out of the gate for Guelph, racking up a strong four points over his past two games. Stevens grabbed a power play goal and an assist in a 6-0 shutout over Oshawa, then added two primary assists in Saturday's 5-1 win over Owen Sound.

Colin Fitzgerald (C/RW)

The right winger maintained a 'Steady Eddy' performance this past week grabbing an assist in both games over the weekend. Fitzgerald set up an assist in Friday's 6-3 win over Brampton before adding another assist and four shots on goal in Saturday's 5-4 victory over North Bay. Through four games this season, he has grabbed three assists in four games in a middle-six role for the Soo.

WHL

Vladimir Proskurin (G)

Over the weekend, Vladimir Proskurin made a strong first impression in his WHL debut for the Victoria Royals on Saturday, stopping 25 of 26 shots in goal in a 4-1 victory over the Vancouver Giants.

KHL (Russia)

Matvei Korotky (C)

Matvei Korotky doubled his season point total in two games with SKA St. Petersburg this past week. Korotky scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 win against Traktor Chelyabinsk before adding a helper later in Sunday's 5-3 win over Barys Astana. The young Russian is averaging just over 16 minutes per game and now has six points in eight KHL games, consistently playing in a bottom-nine role.

Dmitri Buchelnikov (RW)

Season Stats: 9GP | 3g, 1a | 4 pts | 24 SOG

One of the more seasoned forward prospects, Buchelnikov grabbed an assist during CSKA Moskva's 5-0 win over Lada Togliatti on Friday. While he was held off the scoresheet in his othr two games, BUchelnikov's speed has been on full display and has allowed him to put six shots on goal. Over the season, the speedy winger has four points and 24 shots on goal.

Mikhail Fyodorov (RW/LW)

Mikhail Fyodorov grabbed another assist in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Salavat Yulaev Ufa before being held off the scoresheet Saturday in a 2-1 win over Ak Bars Kazan. Scoreless, but with a plus-two rating, Fydorov has been deployed mostly in a supporting role for Metallurg Magnitogorsk as a steady defensive player this season.

Liiga (Finland)

Ondrej Kos (LW)

Kos has put together a strong week for Ilves in the Finnish Ligga. He logged an assist and four shots on goal in Friday's 6-0 shutout over KooKoo, then put four more shots and a plus-one rating in Sunday's 3-2 win over TPS. The points have not come as of yet, but the 20-year-old is doing all of the right things continuing to develop the proper way in Finland's top-tier hockey league.

National League (NL/Switzerland)

Lars Steiner (RW)

Season Stats: 9GP | 1g, 1a | 2 pts | 13 SOG

Steiner added his second point of the season with HC Davos during Friday's 3-2 road loss to Rapperswil-Jona. Steiner managed seven shots on goal in his three games, including a five-shot performance against Fribourg-Gotteron on Tuesday. His points will come with much more difficulty this season, but in a league where he is developing against men.

HockeyAllsvenskan (Sweden)

The Swedish goaltender picked up his first two wins of the season in HockeyAllsvenskan for Leksands IF, stopping all 16 shots against Oskarshamn on Wednesday and 22 of 24 shots on Sunday against Almtuna.

Love Härenstam (G)

Season Stats: 5 GP | 2-2-1 | 9 GA | 96 SA/87 SV | .906 SV%

Härenstam picked up his first shutout of the season on Wednesday, turning aside all 17 shots against in a 4-0 victory over Vasteras IK. Even though he took the loss on Friday against AIK, Harenstam stopped 46 of 51 shots this past week. Through five games in the young season, he holds a .906 save percentage across 235 minutes of play.
