The St. Louis Blues currently hold on to the 11th-best odds to get the first-overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft Lottery. As it is May 4th, and Star Wars is probably the greatest movie franchise of all-time, let's have a little fun with one of the best lines from the original trilogy.

For the Blues, they have the lowest possible chance of getting that first pick, at just 3%. It is a large hill to climb, to gain 10 whole spots in front of competition like the Vancouver Canucks, that have an astounding 25.5%.

In 2025, the New York Islanders moved from the 10th spot to the first overall selection to grab the generational talent in defenseman Matthew Schaefer. To get the 11 spots, the Philadelphia Flyers went from 13th to 2nd in 2017 to take center Nolan Patrick.

It is not impossible, but improbable for the Blues to move that high up the list. But, there is a chance that they could move into a better spot than 11th. Never tell me the odds, and let the ping pong balls fly.

Overall, it would not be such a bad thing, as they also hold the Detroit Red Wings first-round pick, which is projected to be at 15th. Two picks inside of the top-15 is a pretty good haul, especially when they also hold the Coloardo Avalanche's first-round pick as well.

On this May 4th, we nerd out a bit and embrace the iconic moments and dialogue of a timeless movie franchise. On the eve of the NHL Draft Lottery, to all Blues fans across the globe, may the fourth be with you.
