The first week of the 2025/26 regular season is in the books. The Blues played four games, winning two games on the road in Canada and then losing on opening night and their most recent home game.

Here is the newest series, published every Thursday of the season, highlighting our picks for the three stars of the week.

Third star: Dylan Holloway

With a goal for the year, Dylan Holloway has found other ways to help out. He has shown that his season-ending injury from last season is completely healed, and using his body as a battering ram is just as effective as scoring.

Through four games, he leads the team with 16 hits, just one ahead of Nathan Walker. That includes this ferocious smashing hit against Chicago.

Second star: Jimmy Snuggerud

Our second star of the week for the Blues is none other than Jimmy Snuggerud. He opened the season on the first line, but after the first four periods, a switcheroo was made. Pushing Snuggerud to the third line and Jake Neighbours to the top line was a genius move.

Snuggerud has a high expectation attached to him for his rookie season, including potentially winning the Calder Trophy. A lot of the Blues faithful are hoping that he can be what this team needs to make it back to the playoffs. As of now, it is so far so good.

First star: Jake Neighbours

The other half of that switcheroo by head coach Jim Montgomery was to place Jake Neighbours on the first line with Pavel Buchnevich and Robert Thomas. It has done wonders, as he has four goals and an assist in the first four games of the year.

He has certainly earned the first star of the week, being a complete difference maker on the ice. On top of the scoring, he has been just as effective as Holloway on the physicality end, with 14 hits on the year. Although it is not rare for the first-line left winger to be amongst the team leaders in hits, it is still uncommon.

Neighbours will be counted on for the rest of the season. Until Snuggerud can show a little more consistency, or Neighbours hot start starts to slow down, the top-nine forwards are pretty set up.
