Things did not go according to plan in the most recent bout for the St. Louis Blues. Getting smashed 5-4 had its winners and losers, but overall, it wasn’t a good look for the team.

Now, another Central Opponent hosts the Blues in the third and final game of the three-game road trip. The Nashville Predators, who have some x-factors of their own in Steven Stamkos and former Blues captain Ryan O’Reilly, are off to a rocky start to their season with a record of 2-2-3 for seven points.

Fortunately, the Blues have some X-factors of their own. Let’s talk about them here.

Cam Fowler

Fresh off of a three-assist showing against Minnesota, Cam Fowler’s redemption tour stops in Music City. He has been a great defenseman this season, proving that last season’s shortcomings were a fluke.

Fowler has had a good amount of success against the Predators, as they are the team he has had the second-most amount of points against. In 45 career games, he has scored six goals and added 21 assists for 27 points. Only the Arizona Coyotes, before they rebranded to the Utah Mammoth, were his biggest victim.

Robert Thomas

The arrival of Robert Thomas might have just begun for the 2026-27 season. He has had a rough go, as has much of the first line trio, but a goal and an assist against Minnesota was definitely better.

This is one of Thomas’ better opponents to face, with 33 points over 26 games. Let’s see if he can keep the streak going.

Mason McTavish

Nobody has been hotter on this Blues team than Mason McTavish. This guy is a stud, and his arrival has sparked this team. He has brought electricity, tenacity, and a fresh look to that second line.

No. 83 is a near point-per-game player against the Preds, with five goals and six assists for 11 points in 12 games.

Jordan Binnington

After Joel Hofer got the last start against Minnesota, this start against Nashville is going to belong to Jordan Binnington. It was just confirmed, and Ross Johnston is going to be out for this game.

Can Binnington make it two in a row after his first winning effort against the Columbus Blue Jackets? Or, will the trade rumors get even louder after another abysmal performance? This is a crucial game for No. 50, as there is not much time left for him to make a lasting impression.
