The St. Louis Blues took care of business against the Ottawa Senators in the first of three games on the road this week. In a complete team effort, they destroyed them on home ice, 7-2.
There were a bunch of positive things to come from this game, and winners were seen throughout. But after six games, a lingering loser still stands at the forefront of things to fix.
Let's talk about it.
Winners
Pius Suter
From being talked about as a trade piece to now being a bona fide stud on the fourth line, Pius Suter has found his calling so far in 2026-27. He scored two huge goals in this game and added an assist. That included the one that got the party started on the power play.

Colton Parayko
The guy who got Suter sprung to get the opening goal was none other than Colton Parayko. The cobwebs of his offensive ability that took a serious hit last season have been dusted away, and now he is back to his normal self. No. 55 is going to be a 50-point blue liner this season, setting a new career-high of more than 36 points.
Mason McTavish
1/2 of the "McDouble", shoutout to our Co-expert Mike Meyer, Maso McTavish has been everything the Blues wanted after giving up two first-rounders for him. He has been a lightning rod of energy and flow, and this team and city are the perfect place for him to be. Furthering his point lead for the squad, his two goals and assists now give him four goals, three assists, and seven points on the season.
Jake Neighbours
Another player who stepped up in a big way for the Blues in this solid win over the Senators was Jake Neighbours. He scored a set of goals, laid the body, and has found some consistency in his game with goals in back-to-back contests. Watch out for No. 63, folks.
Adam Jiricek
Now it's time to get to the young guns. Adam Jiricek is up first, as he scored his first of many, many goals with this franchise. The long-awaited prospect is still proving he belongs on the first pairing with Philip Broberg, and now head coach Jim Montgomery is going to have a tough decision to make when Logan Mailloux comes back.
Loser
Power play
Despite going 1/3 on the power play, this unit continues to be a soft spot. They are not getting the puck set up in the offensive zone, offensive draws are not being won, and it has been sloppy overall. Going forward, this part of their game has to improve, as 2/14 on the season is not going to cut it.
