The August content is rolling right along at the NHL Network. They've gone over the top 20 at positions around the league, and they recently revealed their Quarter-Century Team.
The St. Louis Blues did not have any players on NHL.com's Quarter-Century Team back in February, but NHL Network decided to show a St. Louis blueliner some love.
NHL Network put together their roster of 12 forwards, six defensemen, and two goaltenders for the Quarter-Century Team, noting that the player must have debuted on or after January 1, 200. So, no, this article is not about Chris Pronger, as he would be an easy choice if eligible.
Instead, NHL Network highlighted another former Blues defenseman and captain.

That's right, Alex Pietrangelo made it on to NHL Network's Quarter-Century Team of players who debuted in the 2000's. He is patrolling the blue line along with Drew Doughty, Victor Hedman, Duncan Keith, Cale Makar, and Shea Weber.
I must say, that'd be a pretty formidable blue line with each player in their prime, and could've even been one of the best in the league before Keith and Weber retired a few years ago.
Pietrangelo, selected by the Blues with the 4th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Draft, debuted that following season and played a total of 17 games in his first two seasons beore turning 21.
After that, Pietrangelo was a stalwart on the Blues' blue line. In total, Pietrangelo racked up 450 points (109 goals, 341 assists) in 758 games across 12 seasons in St. Louis while averaging 24:38 per game. Of course, he was also the Blues captain from 2016 to 2020, winning the Stanley Cup in 2019.
He's since gone on to win another Stanley Cup while adding to his resume with the Vegas Golden Knights. He's recorded 187 points (39 goals, 148 assists) in 329 games across five years with the Golden Knights.
Pietrangelo will always be a legend in St. Louis, and it's nice to see NHL Network recognize his greatness as well!
