We're approaching the true doldrums of the offseason, where the free agents that remain have dwindled, trade speculation is all over the place, and we await resolutions for restricted free agents who have elected for arbitration of their next contract. It's a good time to take stock of an organization's prospect pipeline and, over at The Athletic, Scott Wheeler's released his Top 100 prospects list. Keep in mind this only applies to skaters; goalies will likely get a separate list.
The St. Louis Blues have a respectable showing of four prospects on the list--plus an additional two honorable mentions in Otto Stenberg and Theo Lindstein. Considering the woeful Chicago Blackhawks lead with eight prospects and are still lost at sea in their bottom-out rebuild, four isn't too shabby for a team that decided not to go scorched earth.
The first Blue on the list is also the most recent addition to the franchise: center Tynan Lawrence, taken with the 11th-overall selection at the 2026 draft. There's still doubt in scouting circles that Lawrence will be able to develop into a true No. 1 center that you can build a team around, but a dependable 2C for the future is still a valuable piece to have in waiting.
Next up, at 37 and 39, are Dalibor Dvorsky and Justin Carbonneau. Dvorsky's inclusion as a prospect is a little strange, considering he played 71 NHL games last season, but Wheeler still sees a second-line/middle-six playmaker with power-play utility three years out from being drafted. Carbonneau, meanwhile, has the makings of a top-six winger if his pace and habits come around.
The final Blue on the list is Adam Jiricek, at 82. Jiricek still has a fairly clear path to being a steady second-pair defenseman, though it would be nice if he flashes a little more and rises above that projection. He'll have a great chance in camp to impress the coaching staff and make the team in September, too, as he's turning pro this season.
There's still a lack of true high-end, difference-making talent in the Blues' pipeline, but they're looking pretty set at a number of other positions.
