The St. Louis Blues and Pittsburgh Penguins had a knock-out drag-out brawl to close the doors on the Enterprice Center for the summer. In the 7-5 Blue Note win, there was a historic performance from one of the future faces of this franchise.

Jimmy Snuggerud had a masterful night. It was the best game of his career, and he came up clutch when his team needed him most.

Let's talk about it.

Oh, what a night

Snuggerud hit a career-high is points for a single game with four, scoring two goals and adding two helpers. He notched a three-point night twice this season, once against the New York Islanders on March 10 and then against Colorado last week.

With his fantastic performance, he becomes the 10th Blues rookie to hit the 20-goal, 20-assist mark in a season. Snuggerud joins a historic list, with the last rookie, Patrik Berglund, accomplishing this feat in 2008-09.

One more thing to note, the kid has his first career 50-point season, which is a really big deal considering that Robert Thomas leads this team in points with 61, which is a very close margin. No. 21 is second on the Blues leaderboard for points this season with 21 goals and 29 assists.

There is not much more to be said other than that the Blues were banking on this season being a breakout performance from Snuggerud, and that is exactly what they got. The future has a large piece for him to be put in, and that eventually line of Dalibor Dvorsky, Snuggerud and Justin Carbonneau is starting to look better and better with time.

With only one more game left before the long summer ahead, with some fantastic things to look forward to with the Draft lottery and eventual Draft, there is a lot to look forward too. One more thing to add to the list is watching Snuggerud continue to develop for next season.
