With a difficult schedule to start the season, a three game west coast swing, the Blues managed to grab four of an available six points. That's actually a 109 point average (per 82 games) just from an away perspective which is impressive. Jordan Kyrou had a lot to say about how the Blues were able to have such a successful trip.
With two points in each contest, Kyrou is currently tied for the league lead in points (6) and was also a positive player in plus / minus in each game. In fact, in the only game St. Louis would lose (4-3 to Vegas) Kyrou would be a +2 on the evening. While a flawed stat, it is important to note at this early stage of the season.
In the 2022-2023 season, Kyrou would net a career high 37 goals (73 points in total) while the year prior (2021-2022) he would set a career mark with 75 points. Could it be that the 26 year old forward could best both his goal / point highs this season? If the first three games are any indication that could certainly look to be a strong possibility.
With forty one games aside both home and away on the docket for every team, St. Louis could be set up with a more favorable schedule (having a now home tilted itinerary). The next four games are all at home and the team won't have to travel again until October 23rd. Not only that, but the teams they will be playing all look similar to the Blues in that they could (Wild, Islanders, Hurricanes, and Jets) all be teams looking at competing for some of the last playoff spots in an end of year scenario.
If Kyrou and Blues can continue their play of late (really started about half way through game 1 versus the Kraken) they could take advantage of this early schedule boon and parlay it into an end of campaign benefit. Either way, Jordan Kyrou will have a lot to do with if the Blues make the playoffs which ultimately could see him net both a goal and point new career high.
