The St Louis Blues continue to try and turn their 2025/26 season around, sitting at 7th in the Central Division, but after a riveting road trip across the border saw them pick up 2 gritty wins in Ottawa and Montreal, it's time to head back home to the Enterprise Center, where their next test is the Boston Bruins- a team that thrashed them 5-2 just 4 days ago at the Garden. St Louis begins a near 6-game homestand, starting with that Boston contest tomorrow night, then a trip to Nashville to face the basement-dwelling Predators on December 11, this Thursday, before heading back to St Louis for a duel with Chicago the following night. After that, the Blues face Nashville once more one week from tonight, then another Central Division foe in Winnipeg on December 17, before the final game of this homestand against the New York Rangers on December 18.
It's safe to say that these Blues will be busy in the coming week and change, especially with such a tough schedule ahead. And it's why every game at home has to be played to maximum possible points, so St Louis can work its way out of the Central Division cellar before Christmas. That'd be a nice little present for Blues fans, wouldn't it? It might also take some of the heat off head coach Jim Montgomery, as the Blues' struggles this season have put him on the hot seat. Luckily, it doesn't even remotely look like St Louis will part ways, especially with their "road warrior" mentality they've picked up as of late. Now, the difference in record between games at Enterprise and on the road isn't much- the Blues are roughly 6-6-4 in both of those stats. Kind of makes sense for them to also be hanging around the .500 mark, with a record of 11-12-7, sitting at a tie for 6th and 7th in the Central along with Winnipeg and just ahead of Nashville, which has 24 points at a 10-14-4 record.
The Blues' leading scorers are still Robert Thomas, who, despite missing quite a lot of time with lower-body injuries, has kept the top spot among team point scorers with 18. Defenseman Dylan Holloway is close behind with 17, continuing his re-emerging campaign after being dealt from Edmonton two seasons ago. 3rd is Jordan Kyrou, who's long been one of the Blues' top young stars, but recent news isn't looking good- Kyrou may miss time with a lower body injury and is listed as day to day, though he could be out for as long as a week. Another young star, right winger Jimmy Snuggerud, has also been sidelined for about that time, and he won't be re-evaluated until mid-January, having been put on injured reserve on December 1 due to wrist surgery. The Blues are one of a couple of teams suddenly racked with injuries to key players, and Kyrou's and Snuggerud's aren't even the most peculiar- LW Alexey Toropchenko has also been on IR as long as Snuggerud after a freak home accident badly burned his leg.
So while the Blues may gain some momentum with this upcoming homestand, the amount of injuries to at least two key offensive players could net them an unwanted amount of coal this Christmas. They'll have to keep playing as smart as they've been, holding onto that road warrior mentality they picked up in eastern Canada during the previous couple of games.
