The Blues announced on Monday that former goaltender Brian Elliott has joined the organization as a goaltending scout and development coach on their X account:

Elliott was with the Blues for five seasons and collected 104 wins in that time. In his five seasons, he never posted a save percentage below .905. He is one of the more consistent goalies in Blues history, and it feels right that he's back with the organization.

St. Louis Blues Stats:

2011-12: 38 games, .940 SV%.
2012-13: 24 games, .907 SV%.
2013-14: 31 games, .922 SV%.
2014-15: 46 games, .917 SV%.
2015-16: 42 games, .930 SV%.

Brian Elliott will have an immediate impact

The Blues have a plethora of young goaltending prospects, so adding Elliott to mentor the young guys makes a lot of sense. Colton Ellis and Vadim Zherenko come to mind of players who should benefit from Elliott's mentorship.

With nearly two decades of playing in the league under his belt, Elliott's extensive experience makes him a valuable asset to the St. Louis Blues as a scout. In addition to his keen eye for talent, his valuable experience will be extremely useful for a franchise aiming to rebuild from its 2019 Cup team.

Over the past few weeks, St. Louis Blues fans have been filled with a mix of nostalgia and excitement, thanks to the return of two cherished players who have taken up crucial positions within the organization. Elliott's hiring, a familiar face from the past, follows the appointment of Alexander Steen as GM in training, sparking a wave of anticipation among the fans.

Goaltending is a position you can never have too much depth in. Elliott knows what it takes to have a sucessful career in the league, so he should know what qualities to look for when scouting. Solid move over all by the Blues.
