The St. Louis Blues are going to have a very interesting night on June 26, as the three first-round draft picks are going to hopefully kickstart the next era. There are a few other things that can be done to help get to that point.
This franchise has some valuable trade chips, and it would be best to try and get them moved on or around, draft night. It is still a long way until the 2026-27 season, but it is better to rip the band-aid off now, rather than later.
3. Jordan Binnington
With one season left on his deal, and the starter's net being moved to another goaltender, Jordan Binnington is a valuable trade chip to a contender. Teams like Edmonton or Toronto might come calling for him, and do not count out Florida either with the uncertainity of Sergei Bobrovsky.
2. Colton Parayko
After nearly being moved last season to Buffalo, well basically 99.9% traded, Colton Parayko is once again on the trade block this offseason. There are plenty of teams that need a big puck-moving defenseman, but with his age, the Blues cannot rely on him to still be as effective once this retooling phase is over.
Parayko can still be a solid fit for Buffalo, and after seeing what they did in the playoffs, Parayko could move his No-Movement Clause this time around.
1. Jordan Kyrou
There is a near guarentee that Jordan Kyrou is moved prior to the 2026-27 season. There is no room for him, and he is the most valuable trade chip that the Blues have. He can bring in some more draft capital, or be used with a draft pick to secure a bigger fish, like Will Smith from San Jose, in a blockbuster trade.
Kyrou, much like the entirety of the Blues core group, has a No-Trade Clause attached to their contract. We will see how much loyalty he has to the future of the Blues, or to try to get himself on another contending team that is chasing a Stanley Cup.
