In a three-assist effort, St. Louis Blues captain Brayden Schenn just played his best game of the season. Could he now be on the radar of some teams that are looking for some help down the middle?

The Blues' two biggest assets, Robert Thomas and Colton Parayko, have been heavily rumored over the past few days. But that should not deter attention from other viable trade pieces that the Blues possess.

That includes Schenn.

With a couple of centers still on the board, like Thomas and Vincent Trocheck from the New York Rangers, Schenn might not get a lot of attention right now. But, as it inches closer to that 3 PM EST deadline, teams could get desperate enough to overpay for him. Vice versa, the Blues General Manager might just send him off to get anything at this point.

Schenn on the move?

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger spoke on Schenn and the upcoming rebuild being set in motion by the Blues, and he believes that he will want to last through it. That could be motivation enough for him to be moved, and that was on display with his second three-point game of this season.

Schenn is entering the final years of his storied career, and he may want to try and chase after the Stanley Cup one more time. It is going to be a while before the Blues are capable of that, and with only two more years remaining on his contract, worth an AAV of $6.5 million, the timeframe just doesn't add up.

This season has been bitter for the captain, and it has not gone the way he wanted it to. Both from a team perspective and personally. With 12 goals, 16 assists for 28 points, he has not been able to be a steady contributor on a team with lackuster offense.

Could Schenn now be on the move prior to tomorrow's deadline, or will GM-in-waiting Alexander Steen push him off in the offseason?
