It was a party in St. Louis on May 21, 2019 as the Blues beat the San Jose Sharks 5-1 in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final to win the series 4-2. It was their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since losing three straight in 1968 through 1970.

After a back-and-forth start to the Western Conference Final, the Blues pulled away in the latter stages. They shook off a controversial hand pass goal in Game 3 to win three straight games over the Sharks.

The Blues won 2-1 at home in Game 4, shut out the Sharks in Game 5 with Jaden Schwartz recording a hat trick in San Jose, and came home for a 5-1 win to win the Western Conference.

Once again, the Blues got on the board early in this one. David Perron opened the scoring just 92 seconds into the game and the Blues never looked back. Vladimir Tarasenko added a power-play goal before the first period was up for a 2-0 lead after one.

The Sharks made it a 2-1 game early in the second period, but another power-play goal, this time by Brayden Schenn, put the Blues back up by two midway through the second period.

That was all the scoring until Tyler Bozak made it a 4-1 game with 6:55 remaining. And less than five minutes later, Ivan Barbashev put the exclamation mark on the win with an empty-net goal.

Jordan Binnington was once again tremendous in this one with 25 saves on 26 shots. He finished the Western Conference Final going 4-2 with 14 goals allowed on 159 shots for a .912 save percentage with one shutout.

"The final minutes, counting down there and how loud the rink was and the atmosphere was awesome," Binnington said after the win. "We're excited and looking forward to the next round."

At that point, the Blues knew they would be facing off against the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final. The Bruins swept the Hurricanes with their final win of the series May 16.

Stay tuned as we continue to look back on great moments in Blues history!
