Twos...

Fresh off signing a new two-year contract Jake Neighbours has been hot with two goals in his last two games. Will the new contract free Jake up even more? And of course, there is the two headed goal scoring nemesis of Mark Scheifele (five goals on the year) and Kyle Connor (four goals on the year) who always seems to score against the Blues. Jordan Binnington will need to be at his finest against the highest scoring team in the NHL.

Fours...

A Tuesday night showdown, the last game of a four-game home stand before heading on the road for four games to finish out the month of October. The first of four games against the Jets on the young season. Connor Hellebuyck has been up to his Vezina 🏆 winning ways with four wins, a 1.25 GA, a .952 save % and hasn’t allowed two goals in a period. Can the Blues find multiple cracks in the Hellebuyck armor?

Sixes...

Philip Broberg #6 has been the best Blues defenseman so far and has scored a point in all six games to begin the season, with +6 plus/minus. Five of the Blues six games have been decided by one goal.

Eight...

The Blues have eight points through six games which has then tied for fourth in the Central Division...can they make it ten?

500…

Points that is...for Brandon Saad who scored the first goal of the night (and his first of the year) by cleaning up a rebound from a Robert Thomas shot. Thomas leads the NHL with a 65% faceoff win percentage. Blues lead after period 1…1 to 0.

Three...

The Jets score three times in the second period. On their second powerplay in the second period the Jets score on a deflection to tie the game up at one…no chance for Binnington. Jets keep the pressure on 5-on-5 and a missile from the point eludes Binnington over the glove to make it 2 to 1.

More pressure with just over two minutes left in the second period the aforementioned Kyle Connor (scoring in four straight games) fires one past Binnington stick side. Binnington made several great saves to keep the game 3 to 1 Jets at the end of two periods.

Third period: Comeback needed!

Saad answers the call with his second of the game off a rebound of a Kyrou shot, his fourth shot on goal of the night, and his 501st career point. Hellebuyck giving up numerous rebound opportunities all game. Unfortunately, the Blues were 0 for 2 with the man advantage in the game…no powerplay goals since Game 3 against Vegas.

Jets the Only Undefeated Team in the NHL

The Blues pull Binnington with 1:32 to go in the 3rd and despite pushing hard the Jets hang on for the 3 to 2 win. Jets continue their undefeated start…6 – 0.

Congratulations to Curtis Joseph, Wayne Babych and Jimmy Roberts on being 2025 #StlBlues Hall of Fame inductees.
