A few small tidbits of Blues news happened this afternoon. One signing, and one former player signed with a new team, and one player was called up from the AHL. Let's talk about it down below.

1. Brandon Saad is expected to sign with the Vegas Golden Knights

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet tweeted an hour ago that Brandon Saad is expected to sign a deal with the Vegas Golden Knights. Friedman says the deal is expected to be for one year, 1.5 AAV prorated, which means the money will be spread out.

Saad forfeited nearly nine million dollars when his contract was terminated with the Blues earlier this week. Vegas will get a bottom six forward that still has scoring capability and Saad gets to go to a true cup contender. Sounds like a win for everyone.

2. The Blues have signed Corey Schueneman to a one-year, two-way contract

The Blues announced that they've signed defenseman Corey Schueneman to a one-year, two-way contract. Schueneman had a brief stint with the Blues earlier this season, appearing in four games and not registering a point.

Schueneman will provide some organizational depth for the Blues. There wasn't anything in his four-game sample size this season that jumped out. He was just a fill in while the Blues were dealing with injuries.

3. The Blues have recalled Matthew Kessel from the Springfield Thunderbirds

This is a little bit more interesting. Who are the Blues going to take out of the lineup? If we're assuming Kessel didn't get called up to sit on the bench, it could be Tucker or Suter that comes out of the lineup.

Personally, I hope neither get taken out. Suter has been a workhorse for the Blues despite his age, and Tucker has played some really good hockey since being recalled.
