With the St. Louis Blues' left side on the younger side of the roster, Dylan Holloway (24), Jake Neighbours (24), and recently acquired forward Connor McMichael (25) could all be holding down the left wing for easily the next five seasons. With that being said, the Blues continue to draft and develop the players of the future of the organization. This portion of the pipeline is one of the weaker spots, but still provides valuable prospects who can be inserted into the lineup and serve in multiple areas of the game.
Here is a look at the Blues' top-five left wing prospects ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Otto Stenberg
The 21-year-old Stenberg already has 32 NHL games under his belt, with three goals and 10 points added to the scoresheet as well. He split the 2025-26 season between the NHL club and the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds, where he scored four goals and 17 points in 36 regular season games, playing in a middle-six role for the club. In St. Louis, he averaged 13:43 each night, while jumping to 16:40 for Springfield, seeing his fair share of time on special teams as well. While the hockey IQ and forecheck have traveled well from Sweden, the offense has not as of yet. The talent is there, and the 2026-27 season should provide a good opportunity for him to grow that side of his game.
Expectation: Middle-six, two-way winger in the NHL. He can play with skilled or grinders on his line and is a player who can play either role. He's a bubble player heading into training camp but has an outside shot at making the opening night roster.
Juraj Pekarcik
St. Louis' 2023 3rd-round draft choice made his professional debut with the Springfield Thunderbirds after a 24-goal, 67-point season in 53 QMJHL games with the Moncton Wildcats. Pekarcik maintained a consistent 14 minutes per game with Springfield, where he racked up 11 goals and 35 points in 69 regular season games. Pekarcik has a high hockey IQ, and despite his low shot volume, 15 of his assists this season came as primary assists. He will need to continue growing and developing his all-around game but has the potential to push for a spot in the NHL with another two or so seasons in the AHL.
Expectation: A middle-six playmaker and assist machine. A second full AHL season should give fans a better idea if he has what it takes to push for a top-six or middle-six role in the NHL one day.
Aleksanteri Kaskimaki
Kaskimaki has already pushed his way to the NHL but did not find any offensive success in his brief five-game appearance. Through two seasons in the AHL, the 22-year-old has scored 31 goals and 78 points, including 11 goals and 34 points in 57 games during the 2025-26 season. He has grown to a top-six staple, with the team averaging just under 19 minutes per game, and has continued to grow his quick release to become a complementary scorer.
Expectation: A third-line two-way winger who can slide into the lineup in a pinch and eventually grow into a complementary bottom-six threat.
Jakub Stancl
The 21-year-old left-shot Czech selected in the 2023 4th round was a scoring machine in the junior leagues with Kelowna in the WHL, producing 23 goals and 57 points in 58 games during his 2024-25 season. He split time at both the left wing and the center position with the Thunderbirds this past season and will be one to keep an eye on for where the Blues are projecting him to best play moving forward. He averaged just over 14 minutes of ice time each game this past season, taking 471 draws with a 44% success rate, and also playing 84 minutes on the penalty kill.
Expectation: Stancl still projects as a bottom-six winger but could be an interesting option down the spine. The second full AHL season will be a good test for Stancl, with the pipeline getting more competitive.
Tomas Mrsic
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound winger went 113th in 2024 and grabbed 33 goals and 90 points in 65 games with the Prince Albert Raiders, where he averaged 22:34 ATOI each night. He took his talents to Colorado College, and the offense flattened against the tougher competition, scoring five goals and 12 points in 37 games in a bottom-six role, averaging 14 minutes each game. The skill is not the question for Mrsic at this point, but strength is.
Expectation: Mrsic has the potential to develop into a middle-six winger if his body catches up with his offensive abilities. He's not close to challenging for a jump to the pro level yet, but he will need the next few seasons in the NCAA to add strength and grow his all-around game.
