At the World Championships, there has been a fantastic tournament going on; alas, the wrapping up of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. With only a handful of games remaining and the Gold Medal game scheduled for May 31, there has been one team featured.

Switzerland manhandled Norway in the semi-finals, winning 6-0. That is important to St. Louis Blues fans because there is one singular Blue on the team who has been a big contributor for them.

Pius Suter, who has played four games for his home country in this tournament, has a goal and three assists for four points. He had an assist in the semi-final, helping push his team into the Gold Medal game.

Now, he must face either Team Canada or Finland. If it is the former, he will face off against two other Blues in Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway, who both have had great tournaments themselves. There are no players from the Blues on the Finnish side.

Suter is shining in this tournament, much like he did at the Olympics. His 2025-26 campaign for the Blues, which was his first with the club, was great. He came in and did everything that was expected of him, and there is an opportunity with him to contend with Dalibor Dvorsky for the second-line center spot.

Having a solid tournament now, and the hope of it carrying over to a better performance in 2026-27, is exactly what Blues fans should want. The experience gained against some of the best-made hockey teams on the planet is important, and a shiny Gold Medal to bring home could instill some newfound confidence in No. 22.
