The St. Louis Blues are enjoying the fruit of the Edmonton Oilers' labor. We have all seen the impact that Philip Broberg has had on the defense, but now the comeup of Dylan Holloway is starting to unfold.
Sonny Sachdeva of Sportsnet just pushed Holloway's stock up a couple of ticks with a shoutout in his latest piece on who would represent Team Canada, in upcoming tournaments like the World Cup of Hockey and the 2030 Olympics, under the age of 25. This is just a hypothetical.
No. 81 in the Blue Note joins alongside the likes of Central Division rival Connor Bedard on the third line, along with Stanley Cup Champion Seth Jarvis of Carolina. Wow, that line is an electric factory.

Holloway is starting to get his flowers
This has been building for a while now. Holloway has been earning everything that he has now, and he was rewarded with a nice new contract worth $7.75 million over the next five years. The Blues are going to be enjoying him for that period of time, and likely long after that.
The 24-year-old winger is slated to appear alongside Robert Thomas and Jimmy Snuggerud, which was a very good but late trio last season. For the 2026-27 season, the hope is that they will lead the way and the rest of the pack will follow.
Holloway's nomination for Team Canada, no matter how far into the future you look, is the right call. He is continuing to build himself even further into that "Elite" status, and one day he very well could get there. He has speed, explosiveness, a grit factor, and overall a workhorse mentality. The biggest con with him so far has been his extensive stays on the Injured Reserve.
Looking ahead, there is nothing but positives to think about with Holloway. He is quickly becoming one of, if not the, top forwards of this team, and he has a long career ahead of him. International tournaments and representing his home country are surely going to be in his future.
For the Blues, his rising stock will make that $7.75 million price tag look sweeter and sweeter. With so many other young players to sign soon, they made the right call locking up Holloway when they did. Another solid season in 2026-27 and that should be worth an extra one or two million a year.
