The St. Louis Blues have made a trade with the Los Angeles Kings, with a 1-for-1 trade with some depth pieces. Sending over Nikita Alexandrov to the Kings, the Blues acquired Akil Thomas, a forward with an abundance of AHL experience and some NHL reps.

Thomas, who has four goals and nine assists this season for the Ontario Reign, the Kings' AHL affiliate, will be reporting to Springfield for the Blues. With the recent injury news to Jimmy Snuggerud, Pius Suter, and Alexey Toropchenko, as well as Nathan Walker, expect to see Thomas at the NHL level very soon.

Alexandrov was a solid prospect in the Blues' farm system for the last six seasons, and will make a fine addition for the Kings.
