The Blues have a few chances in 2025-26 to redeem themselves from their unfortunate ending last season

The St. Louis Blues ended their miraculous 2024-25 season in probably the worst possible way. In game seven, with all of the chips on the table, they allowed two goals in the final minutes of the game to get knocked out by the Presidents' Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets.

Now, with the 2025-26 season revving up to take place in a number of weeks, everyone who loves this franchise is circling a few dates on the new schedule. You probably guessed the opponent by now; it is their Central Division rival, Winnipeg, and they have a few meetings this year.

Let's talk about how the Blues can take their revenge.

Four circled dates

The Blues and Jets will face each other four times next season, as customary for all division opponents. The first round matchup from the 2024-25 Stanley Cup Playoff run was the most tenacious series of arguably the entire playoffs. With how sour things ended for the Blues, there is a very good chance that hitting will be full-force, fights will be organized, and blood shall be shed.

Those four meetings are as follows:

12/17

WPG @ STL

01/20/26

STL @ WPG

03/15/26

STL @ WPG

04/09/26

WPG @ STL

Each of those four meetings will have playoff implications, as the Central Division is anticipated to be one of the tightest divisions in all of hockey. The top five teams will be within earshot of each other, and there is a very good chance that five teams from the Central make it into the playoffs, once again.

The most anticipated one here will be that first game in December. On home ice, the Blues are going to want to take it to the Jets with their fans behind them. With how much it felt like the 2024-25 season was a team of destiny, that untimely ending did not provide the closure needed. Fans wanted more of that team, and I'm sure the players wanted more as well.

It is a good sign that the Blues hold the first and last meetings on home ice. They can use the Enterprise Center's energy to help boost their morale and try to muster out a key victory. But, it should be expected that the middle-matchups on the road will trigger some PTSD for the Blues' core.

Both teams are expected to be great in 2025-26, and both might end up in another matchup in the playoffs at the end of the year. The only difference is that the playoff series from last season is not really over, with the four regular-season matchups having that aura to it next season.

Can the Blues take their revenge and get the redemption they deserve?
