The St. Louis Blues had a fantastic month of March, and it was capped off with a much deserved award for a blossoming superstar. Jimmy Snuggerud is the NHL's rookie of the month for March.

This kid has been turning it up a notch, and he has really put the league on notice.

The future relies on Snuggerud

There is not much more to say than that the Blues future relies on the development of Snuggerud. He spearheads a very profitable pipeline of prospects.

With seven goals and eight assists for 15 points, he has earned his spot on the top-line alongside Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway. The trio have been one of the best top-lines in all of hockey since the Olympic-break.

This is the first rookie of the month honor for Snuggerud, but this is surely the tip of the iceberg. The Calder Trophy is pretty much locked up with Matthew Schaefer of the New York Islanders revolutionizing the game as an 18-year-old. But, No. 21 from the Blue Note should get a couple of votes.

Now, as we enter the month of April, the focus for the Blues is on a playoff-push. With only four points seperating this franchise from a spot in the draft lottery and postseason play, this is going to be a hectic two weeks. Snuggerud is going to be a key component in whether this team sinks or swims.

The future is bright for Snuggerud, and the NHL made the right choice for their rookie of the month in March.
