It's a busy week for your St. Louis Blues, as they stare down a four-game slate--including one back-to-back in the middle of the week. They're 3-7-2 entering tonight's match against the Edmonton Oilers, and on a seven-game losing skid; getting back on track tonight could be a challenge, but there are some potential get-right games later in the week. Let's get started with tonight's challenge.

vs. the Edmonton Oilers

The Blues welcome the Oilers tonight, and what's there to say about Edmonton that isn't already known? They have two of the best players in the world in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and a pretty solid supporting cast to go along with it. Don't let the Oilers' middling 6-4-3 record fool you: this is a team that can do serious damage if the Blues aren't careful.

@ the Washington Capitals

The Capitals aren't having quite the same storybook season they did last year, as Washington has gone 6-5-1 to start 2025-26 and sits in a three-way tie for last in the Metropolitan Division (the East is really weird right now). The Blues are certainly not favorites, but the Capitals aren't the powerhouse they appeared to be; just don't let Alex Ovechkin hang out in the faceoff circle on the power play too much.

@ the Buffalo Sabres

The Blues head up to New York state for the second half of their back-to-back to face the Sabres and, much like the Capitals, the Sabres are in a three-way tie for last in the Atlantic Division (again, the East is extremely weird this year). Buffalo was expected to maybe, finally break their playoff drought but, alas, things have not gone according to plan to start the season.

vs. the Seattle Kraken

Seattle is 5-2-4 and, while not the most formidable roster on paper, have performed pretty well to start the season. Joey Daccord is a legit goaltender, and good health and bounce back seasons from some of the veterans are pushing the Kraken into playoff contention. A premium prospect pool could make Seattle a serious contender in a few years but, at the moment, they're likely a bubble team--and a must-win for the Blues to keep their playoff hopes alive.
