The St. Louis Blues did not have a good 2025-26 season, and there are a lot more questions going into this offseason, than last. Over the course of the 82-game season, there was a lot more bad than good, and it was evident in the final standings.

Looking at the season as a whole, there are a couple of performances that really stand out more than the rest. Bad part is that it is for all the wrong reasons.

Let's look back at the three worst performances from the Blues in 2025-26. Brace yourself folks.

October 9, 2025 - 5-0 loss to Minnesota on Opening Night

You cannot start a season any worse than the Blues did for the 2025-26 season. After the 12-game winning streak that set a franchise record, which then caused a surprise playoff appearance and near first-round victory over Winnipeg, there was so much promise for this season. They went out and grabbed Logan Mailloux to fill the big hole in the defense, and Pius Suter and Nick Bjugstad were added for some depth down the middle.

Then they walked into the Enterprise Center on October 9 for opening, and walked out scratching their heads. The Minnesota Wild came to town, and at that point did not have fantastic blue liner Quinn Hughes, and completely dominated the Blues, 5-0.

Yikes.

October 15, 2025 - 8-3 loss to Chicago

In the first meeting of the 2025-26 season against bitter rival Chicago, there was a huge letdown. Again, it came in front of the hometown fans, and it was an 8-3 rout.

The Blues, and ultimately backup goaltender Joel Hofer, could not handle the young stars in Chi-town. Hofer allowed seven goals on 22 shots, and was ultimately pulled in the third period.

January 7 - 7-3 loss to Chicago

Speaking of Hofer, I am going to just leave this one here as to why this game was one of the worst team performances of the season. After Binnington could not handle the Blackhawks, he did not want to leave the ice and Hofer was down the hallway.

Eventually, Binnington was pulled and some sparks did fly between him and head coach Jim Montgomery but nothing more came of it.
