With the St. Louis Blues training camp and preseason roster dwindling down by the day, and just 10 days to go until opening night against the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 9. There is one prospect that has survived the first couple rounds of cuts and might make it all the way to the end of the preseason.
Dalibor Dvorsky, who did not get off to a great start this preseason, has picked it up as each game passes by. Has he shown enough to rock those brand new uniforms to start the 2025-26 season?
The last prospect standing?
There are a number of prospects that are still amongst the NHL roster at this point in the preseason. There are Dvorsky, Otto Stenberg, and Aleksantari Kaskimaki for the forward group.
The Blues roster is pretty set up for the start of the 2024-25 season, with only a small amount of wiggle room to add in a prospect to start. There might be a scenario in which none of those three mentioned above make the final cut at all.
But, if there was one that could slide in, Dvorsky has made a great case. One of his highlights of the preseason was this snapshot that beat Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Spencer Knight. This kid has some talent.
What an incredible shot by Dalibor Dvorský, as he beats Knight from distance while alone in the zone, an incredible showcase of skill there!

This is a great sign for this young man's future. Much like they did with Justin Carbonneau, multiple Blues stars have taken extra time and effort to mentor Dvorsky. This could be another hint to his potential future over the next week and a half.
No matter if he makes it onto the opening night roster or not, at some point in 2025-26, Dvorsky will be a big part of the Blues. The youth is strong in this group, Jimmy Snuggerud and the pending arrival of Carbonneau aside, a centerman of Dvorky, might be a line at the end of the year.
The Blues have three more preseason games to go before a final decision has to be made. With that much opportunity left, Dvorsky has to take full advantage of every shift. If he slides back into his lackluster performance at the start of the preseason, it could be a one-way trip back to Springfield for him.
