The St. Louis Blues have finally hit their stride, and it couldn't have come at a better time. The stage is almost set for the Stanley Cup playoffs, and the Blues are undoubtedly going to be a part of it. The path they will take is unclear once they make the playoffs, but the framework is nearly complete.
At the end of this unbelievable 12-game winning streak, the Blues have started to call up some of their rising stars. One of those stars has made an immediate impact in a very short time. He has looked comfortable on the ice against some of the top NHL talent and has been a big help in making this franchise record happen.
That player is Jimmy Snuggerud.
Like he has always been here
When watching Snuggerud out on the ice, you would think that he has played in all 70+ games played this season. It is almost like he was always with the Blues, and has settled in for the end of the season and into the Playoffs. But, he also has a freshness to his game, especially with his speed.
Snuggerud has appeared in three games with the Blues, his NHL debut on April 1 against the Detroit Red Wings, then on April 3 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and in the last game that set the record against the Colorado Avalanche on April 5. He has picked up an assist in the past two games, but he has yet to score a goal on his four shots on goal this season.

Snuggerud joined the Blues and got off to a great start. The foundation is there for him to be a solid player for the future. As the playoffs are coming up, head coach Jim Montgomery has two unique situations in front of him. As another future superstar made his debut over this win streak, Dalibor Dvorsky, the two players could play alongside each other. That is the first scenario.
The second scenario is that Montgomery, General Manager Doug Armstrong, and the rest of the front office give Snuggerud some playoff action at the end of the regular season. Of course, the snag here will be about his current contract situation, as the Blues do not want to burn his first year for nothing.
