Following the scuffle with Washington Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois in the St. Louis Blues' 3-0 victory, Robert Thomas is now out of the lineup for Thursday night. As the Blues host the San Jose Sharks, they will be without their top point-getter, and this could be a big momentum shift at a crucial part of the season.
Robert Thomas (upper body) is out tonight, day to day; Walker comes in on fourth line, Suter moves up to third line; Dvorsky to top line; Kessel in for Holl; Hofer in goal. #stlblues

The Blues have been playing great hockey as of late, and that has been thanks to Thomas and his work on that impressive top line. Centering Dylan Holloway and Jimmy Snuggerud, the trio have been x-factors for much of this post-Olympic break surge.
With the Blues uncertainity for the rest of this season, this is a big game against the Sharks. This team is only eight points back of the second wildcard spot, and San Jose has been free-falling with a five-game losing streak.
Who steps up?
Now, Dalibor Dvorsky steps up to the first line, centering Holloway and Snuggerud. This is going to be the first real glimpse of Dvorsky and Snuggerud at five-on-five, as these two are destined to be the first line of the future.
Of course, that also means that Dvorsky now has to match up against one of the most polarizing centers in the game, in Macklin Celebrini. This kid has it all, and in such a small sample size of nearly two seasons, he has proven that he is the real deal.
This loss of Thomas is going to sting, but it should not sink the ship. The hope is that it will be only for this game, and he will be back for the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
