The St. Louis Blues are entering the national spotlight for the first time this season, facing the Chicago Blackhawks on HBO MAX and TNT on Wednesday night. The start of a four-game homestand, the true test of the 2025-26 season is upon us.

The Blues had a lackluster opening night at the Enterprise Center, but for this game, they have to use short-term memory to try and have a better result.

What three players are going to set the Blues apart in this primetime game?

Jake Neighbours

No Blues player has been hotter than Jake Neighbours. Head coach Jim Montgomery had a genius move by switching both Neighbours and Jimmy Snuggerud for the first and third lines.

Neighbours has three goals on the year, and is tied for the second-most hits on the team with 11, joining Nathan Walker. He is going to be a must-watch in the first-line matchup against Connor Bedard and company.

Jimmy Snuggerud

Joining Neighbours at the top of the team lead in points, Snuggerud has three points himself this season. With two goals and an assist, including the multi-point effort against Vancouver, he is proving that he is a superstar in the making.

Snuggerud is embracing his "demotion" to the third line, completing a very competitive trio with Mathieu Joseph and Pius Suter. Can the young sniper get back on the goal sheet once again?

Jordan Kyrou

Surprisingly, Jordan Kyrou has not had his name called over the PA system as a goal-scorer yet this season. He has gotten some good chances, but has yet to bury it.

The leading goal-scorer from the last three seasons, Kyrou, is in the spotlight himself after the Blues decided not to trade him in the offseason. There was a never-ending saga this summer regarding Kyrou's future, and ultimately, the Blues decided to invest in him being what he has been in years past, as a pure goal scorer.

This season has not been kind to Kyrou. But, on a National scale, he could prove the doubters wrong with a big game against the Blackhawks.
