The time has finally come, and it is time to sit back and enjoy another season of St. Louis Blues hockey. With a preview already established for tonight's matchup against the Dallas Stars, it is time to highlight three players who have major storylines attached to them this preseason.
Let's take a look, shall we?
Dalibor Dvorsky
The time might have finally come for the 10th pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft to get an opening-night call-up. If he can put together a good training camp and start his preseason with a stellar performance against Dallas, he might earn himself a full-time position with the Blues.
With the success of Jimmy Snuggerud last season, it is easy to forget that Dvorsky made his NHL debut as well. It was much shorter and less impactful than Snuggerud's, but it was still his first shot at the big leagues. Expect Dvorsky to come out and give the Stars his absolute best.
Dylan Holloway
After making a fantastic debut season with the Blues in 2024-25, Dylan Holloway unfortunately went down with an injury right before the playoffs began. His sidelining led to the emergence of the aforementioned Snuggerud, which is not all that bad in hindsight.
But, after a successful surgery and time away to heal, Holloway returns to the Blues to continue his positive performance from last season. There is a buildup of great wingers making their way up to the NHL-level, and Holloway has to be at his best to retain his position for the long-term.
Justin Carbonneau
Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your seats because it is about to get aggressive in here. The first-round selection of the 2025 NHL Draft, Justin Carbonneau, will get his first licks at NHL talent as a part of the Blues.
This is an incredible experience for the young up-and-comer, as he will be making his way back to the QMJHL at some point before the regular season starts. Or, if he can set the tone in his first game of the preseason against Dallas and keep this momentum going toward the regular season, he might possibly get a spot on the opening night roster.
