It is almost Christmastime, which means that it is almost time for everyone to get everything on their Christmas list. If the St. Louis Blues had a wishlist, what exactly would be on it for the rest of this season?
let's talk about it.
Going over .500 and staying there
To summarize the Blues first 33 games played this season, it can be categorized as a roller coaster. Highest of highs and lowest of lows have been the trend this season.
For the Blues wishlist, the number one thing that they want most is to stay as far above that .500 line as possible. if the vision is that this team, under new head coach Jim Montgomery, is a playoff hopeful, they need to win hockey games to do that.
Consistency all around
Overall record aside, playoff hope aside, the Blues next item on the wishlist should be consistency from the team as whole. Over the past four games, they have only been able to muster 80 shots on net, and that will not win you hockey games. This team, under Montgomery's short tenure, has shown the ability to hit 40+ shots per game. They just need to do it more often.
On the other end of the ice, the defensive unit has shown strides to be better, but they are an uncertainity every night. Cam Fowler is settling in, and every game shows promise for permanent line combos on the blueline.
Remaining healthy
The final wish on the Blues wishlist should be for this team to remain healthy. The injury bug slammed this roster at the start of the season, and that was one of the top reasons why they fell behind early. At the moment, some key members are on the sideline due to injury, but thankfully moves have been made to replace them.
What else should be on the Blues wishlist for Christmas this year?
