The St. Louis Blues have a lot of great players on their roster. But, who is the most valuable of them all.
Let's take a look
Jordan Binnington
This is a great choice, but not the right answer. Jordan Binnington is the starting goaltender of the Blues, and has been touted as one of the best in franchise history. This season, Binnington has not been fantastic, but he has not been a pushover either. At 11-14-3, he has a 2.79 Goals Against Average and has saved .899 of the shots he has faced.
More often than not, the goaltender of a hockey team is considered the most valuable because of the definition of their position. They are the only player in their position, and they are not easily replaceable. They are the last line of defense between the puck and the net.
Binnington is a great choice, but the title of most valuable player belongs to someone else.
Robert Thomas
Another great choice is Robert Thomas. He has been fantastic this season, with eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points. But, he does not hold the title of MVP.
Thomas has been everything and more for the Blues this season, as he is seemingly on the score sheet every single night. Whether it being on the powerplay or helping out on the penalty kill, he is a great player.
Even more then Binnginton, Thomas is an excellent choice, but not the right choice.
Jordan Kyrou
Winner Winner, it is Jordan Kyrou. There is no one else on the Blues roster that makes more of an impact on the ice then #25.
With 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points in 41 games this season, there is a diamond in the rough with Kyrou. As the leading scorer on this team, he has the most amount of pressure to put goals on the board, as the Blues are one of the worst in the league in that category with only 113 goals forced on the season.
Kyrou has every opportunity to be a Blues member for the rest of his playing career, which is not available to anyone else on this team. He contributes and sparks inspiration to his fellow linemates and teammates.
Kyrou undoubtedly is the most valuable player on this team. Without him, this team is nowhere close to being a .500 or better hockey club.
