Now that March has come and gone, the calendar flips to April, the last month of the regular season. This month is a key for the NHL, and the St. Louis Blues must use every game to their advantage. They haven’t locked up a playoff seed yet, and the battle between the first and second wildcard spots is starting to heat up.
Looking back on March, the Blues completely changed the outlook of this season. At the beginning of the month, they were still an indecisive and unpredictable team with very little hope of a playoff run. But as we look ahead to April, the script has completely flipped to a successful 2024-25 season.
These three players helped solidify the Blues as playoff contenders and performed fantastically in March.
Robert Thomas
Robert Thomas is a superstar player. There is no shadow of a doubt that he is in that category, and this month proved that sentiment. He was a difference maker every time he hit the ice last month.
In 15 games during March, Thomas has three goals and 17 assists for 20 points. Looking at the rest of the NHL he joins Sidney Crosby, William Nylander, Artemi Panarin, and John Tavares for a tie for third-most with that point total.
Dylan Holloway
Behind Thomas, Dylan Holloway was also incredible in March. With 26 goals and 36 assists for 62 points, he has been on a tear in this career-best season. The Blues made a fantastic decision to offer him sheeting, and it has paid itself back, hopefully, in silver and nickel.
Holloway has impacted this current nine-game win streak, with five goals and nine assists for 14 points. Three of those goals came in the clutch as game-winning goals. This team relies heavily on its top-six, and Holloway has been a big contributor to that group.
Jordan Binnington
Jordan Binnington was so good in March that the NHL included him as its third star of the month. For the Blues, it is safe to say that he should be the first star of the month. He was 8-2 in March, only allowing 21 goals with a save percentage of .910.

For the sake of April, it is imperative that he and backup goaltender Joel Hofer continue to be the best-kept secret in the NHL. They will be the deciding factor whether or not the Blues make a deep playoff run or are a potential first-round bounce. That is, of course, if they do not completely collapse this month, ruining one of the most magical and awe-inspiring seasons in recent memory.
