Who will lead the St. Louis Blues in points by the end of 2024-25?

When Robert Thomas went down with an injury, it foreshadowed that someone else would end up leading the St. Louis Blues in points this season.

When Robert Thomas missed more than a few weeks with an injury, it looked like Jordan Kyrou was taking the points title without question. And as things stand, Kyrou leads the team in the category, with 41 points in 48 games.

But it looks like Thomas is surging, with 35 points in 36 contests. If this article was about points per game as opposed to points total, Thomas would take this one hands down. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up with over a point per contest, and it’s likely he’ll be the only Blue to take the honor.

While this looks like a two-man race to end the year with the highest points total on the team, one other Blue’s made a glorious appearance. See, Thomas is in third place right now, behind Kyrou and Dylan Holloway, and I wanted to talk more about the latter.

If we were to take a vote right now on who Blues fans would want to see end the season as the points champion, I’m voting for Holloway. With the way the Blues acquired him and how he never had much of a chance to shine in the Lou, Holloway’s 36 points in 48 games is already refreshing, but he’s capable of more.

Could Dylan Holloway lead the St. Louis Blues in points this season?

There’s a good chance Holloway will walk away with the points title, as he seems to have been getting more consistent while Kyrou’s still arguably the team’s streakiest forward. They’ve both been productive in the previous five games, with Kyrou snagging three points and Holloway, four, but Holloway’s been on fire over the past month.

Since December 23rd, he’s got five goals and 17 points across 13 contests, with a 14.3 shooting percentage and 17:47 of average time on ice. This makes me think there’s a legitimate chance he’ll pass Kyrou at some point this season, especially if Kyrou keeps playing his usual hot-and-cold hockey.

But, there’s always Robert Thomas, easily still the team’s most talented forward and one who could pass both Holloway and Kyrou. It would neither surprise nor disappoint anyone in the Blues fan base if Thomas took the title, but I’m sure nobody would complain if it went to Holloway.

Personally, I’d like to see Thomas and Holloway keep up their current productivity and turn this thing into a real race for points supremacy. The better and more consistent those two are performing, the better off the Blues are, period.
