The St. Louis Blues have some pretty heavy sticks on their roster, but have yet to reach one singluar advanced stat this season. This is not to mention that they have really lacked in the speed department with their skates this season.

According to NHL EDGE, the Blues have not registered any shot over 100+ miles per hour. That is an astounding feat, considering the arsenal of Colton Parayko, Tyler Tucker, Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou and Dylan Holloway.

Lack of power

In 2024-25, the Blues had the fifth-hardest shot in the NHL, with a Colton Parayko blast on February 22, 2025 against Calgary that went 102.3 MPH. Overall, they had 57 shots go over 90+ MPH, which was the 11th-most in the NHL last season.

Fast forward to the current campaign, where Justin Faulk holds the hardest shot on this team. He did it December 22 against Tampa Bay, and the shot reached 96.15 MPH. That is nowhere near the mark that Parayko made the season before, as it ranked 30th in the 32-team league.

The shots over 90+ MPH are also way down, with a drop off form 57 shots to just 34, the Blues rank 25th in the NHL. Outside of Faulk having the two hardest shots on the season, Jimmy Snuggerud holds the active roster record, with a 95.56 MPH shot against Chicago on January 7.

You have to hope that this lackluster display of power is just a fluke, and the 2026-27 season is going to be a lot better. Justin Carbonneau could be a conduit of that, as well as Adam Jiricek of the CHL.

The Blues no longer have Faulk to give them their hardest shot, so someone new, or former like Parayko, has to step up next season.
