The NHL announced the 2025 Calder Trophy winner as the best rookie of the year on Tuesday morning.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson ran away with 165 of 191 first-place votes. It was a bit closer between Calgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf in second and San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini in third as the other two finalists.

The St. Louis Blues didn't have any rookies truly in the race, but forward Zack Bolduc was included on 18 different ballots across the voters.

Bolduc received one fourth-place vote from Belle Fraser of the Salt Lake Tribune and 17 other fifth-place votes.

The 22-year-old winger played in the maximum of 25 games in the 2023-24 season to remain eligible for the Calder. After recording nine points (five goals and four assists) in those 25 games, Bolduc broke out with 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) in 72 games last season.

Bolduc's 19 goals tied him for the fourth-most among rookies with Detroit Red Wings center Marco Casper. Michkov, Celebrini, and Cutter Gauthier were the only rookies to reach the 20-goal mark. Overall, Bolduc's 36 points were the eighth-most among rookies.

Bolduc, the Blues' first-round selection (17th overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft, is entering the final year of his entry-level contract. The winger figures to be a big part of the future as the Blues look to take a step forward in the latter half of the decade.
