Former St. Louis Blues goalie Ryan Miller is pals with Vancouver Canucks goaltender, Eddie Lack. Lack is known for having a goofy sense of humor, best demonstrated in his bffl-esque tweets with former Canucks goaltender, current Panther Roberto Luongo. Now, however, current Canuck Ryan Miller has decided to get in on the fun via his long-kept secret artistic skills and his own twitter account.
Lack held a competition to design his goalie pads for the upcoming season, as The Hockey News reports.
"Lack held a mask design competition earlier this season and it was met with great success. So it only makes sense he would try to do the same with his equipment."
Many goaltenders and teams have held similar contests; in fact, the Blues held one such contest for Jake Allen’s mask in early November. Apparently Miller was busy that day. However his current status on the injured reserve has freed up some of his time and stirred up his creative juices, as you can see from the design tweeted below.
Have a lot of time on my hands so I decided to enter @eddielack pad competition. I think I nailed it. pic.twitter.com/y5s5rzCEaB

While the design is certainly inspired, Lack’s love for not blocking shots with images of his parents’ faces will likely win out over the wonderful mess that is Miller’s foray into artistry. However I do expect to see Miller on Project Runway season 35, coming soon to a television near you.
