The St. Louis Blues did not have a fantastic season in 2025-26, but there were some moments and games that did make you believe that this team was great. These three specific games told a story that this team was truly better than their final record, and that the future might actually hold some good fortune for this franchise.

Let's dive into it.

April 14, 7-5 win over Pittsburgh

This was a fun game. On April 14, the Blues hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins and defeated them 7-5 in a barnburner. Everyone was everwhere and goals were flying in all over the place.

Pittsburgh jumped out to a 3-1 lead at the end of the first period, with Jimmy Snuggerud scoring the lone Blues goal. But then, the seccond and third period were all Blues hockey, with No. 21 collecting his first four-point night with two goals and two assists.

What a win this was.

April 13, 6-3 win over Minnesota

The night before that crazy win against Pittsburgh, the Blues defeated the Minnesota Wild, 6-3. This was another fun one, as the Blues got to experience a Quinn Hughes-less team. Snuggerud was once again the star in this one, as he scored a goal and added an assist.

The Central Division is going to be a really tough division in hockey next season, and the Blues are going to have to try to roll over this powerhouse team, which is not even the best team. Colorado, despite being down 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals against the Vegas Golden Knights, will have a stranglehold on this division for a long time.

But, winning this key matchup at the end of the season was a nice touch.

December 20, 6-2 win over Florida

Before the Christmas break, the Blues had a solid win against the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers. It was a 6-2 victory that featured the emergence of Jonatan Berggren. It was his third game with the club, and he scored a goal and added two assists for his first multi-point game as a Blue.

Robert Thomas was also a solid figure in this one. He had two goals and an assist, giving him the first of four three-point games on the season. Thomas had a solid year, through and through, and his placement for the future of this franchise will be under the microscope this summer. It is leaning toward him being a Blue for the 2026-27 season, but expect General Manager-to-be Alexander Steen to be fielding calls regardless.
