The St. Louis Blues are entering their second game of a five-game road trip, with a visit to the "City of Brotherly Love", Philadelphia. Just last week, they faced off against the Flyers, losing 6-5 in that barnburner ending in a shootout.
Now, with a most recent loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Blues are looking to get back on track. These three players can help them get there.
Brayden Schenn
The Blues have to get themselves back in the win column. Defenseman Cam Fowler, who we will talk about later down the list, said it best: this team needs to do anything it can to start stacking up wins. This is where a captain steps in and hammers that mindset into all 23 members of this team.
Brayden Schenn has to really bring it against the team that he played for earlier in his career. After spending six solid seasons with the Flyers, Schenn has to make his return to the Xfinity Mobile Arena with a statement performance.
Cam Fowler
Speaking of Fowler, the defenseman has to step up his game. His comments should have resonated with his teammates, and hopefully with himself.
As one of two Blues d-men with a -10 or worse this season, coupled with Logan Mailloux, Fowler can play much better than that. Can he turn it around against a solid offense in Philadelphia?
Pavel Buchnevich
Another player with all eyes on him is the curious case of Pavel Buchnevich. His play has been on a downward spiral, and there is an uncertainity to what happens with him next. His playtime has been diminished in an effort to inspire him, and that did not go well in Toronto.
Buchnevich has been basically held to nothing offensively over the past dozen games, and if he is not benched prior to this game against Philly, another bad showing could call for his benching. Can he figure it out and help this Blues team to a much-needed victory?
