When star defenseman Colton Parayko went down with a “potential” season-ending injury, the St. Louis Blues were left with a big hole in their lineup.

The key is on potential, as even though its been stated that Parayko is likely out for rest of regular season, he is back out on the ice taking some reps.

Over this 13-2-2 onslaught since the 4 Nations Face-off, there have been two defensemen who have stepped up in Parayko’s absence. These three d-men will be heavily relied on over the last nine games of the season, and into the playoffs.

Justin Faulk

Justin Faulk has had a very good season in 2024-25 and has been turning it up lately. In 69 games this season, he has four goals and 28 assists for 32 points.

Since the 4 Nations break resumed, he has a pair of goals and 11 assists for 13 points, which is tied for the most among defenseman on the Blues with one of the other names on this list.

Cam Fowler

Since coming over from the Anaheim Ducks earlier this season, Cam Fowler has been everything the Blues have been looking for.

He is consistent, adding a swift offensive game to his stellar defense. Since the break, he is tied with Faulk for the team lead with 13 points, a goal and 12 assists, by a defenseman.

Philip Broberg

The third defenseman who has stepped up in Parayko’s absence is Philip Broberg. He had a career-night in Tuesday’s 6-1 bludgeoning of Montreal, with a goal and three assists for his first career four-point game.

Broberg has been a pleasant surprise this season, as he is really embracing being in St. Louis Alongside his former Oilers teammate Dylan Holloway
