The St. Louis Blues have been enjoying the easiest schedule in the National Hockey League and have taken full advantage of it. Currently on a five-game win streak, they have continued to stay ahead of the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks for the second and final wildcard spot. Tonight, they face the Nashville Predators to win their sixth straight game.

One of their main reasons for their longest win-streak of the 2024-25 season is thanks to a player who has been playing at a superstar level in his career-best season.

That player being, 23-year-old Dylan Holloway.

Career-defining season

This has been an electrifying season for Holloway, as he has found a way to be a top point-getter despite being labeled as a different type of player. Appearing in all 71 games this season, he is tied for the second-most points on the team with 57 points. He also has the second-most goals on the team with 23 goals and the second-most assists with 34 assists.

To put into perspective how big of a year he is having compared to the first two seasons he had with Edmonton, Holloway had 18 points in 89 games with the Oilers. Over the last five games, he has registered a point in each game, and has three goals and seven assists in that time frame. That is simply remarkable.

Superstar in the making?

The Blues might have a young superstar in the making in Holloway. His toughness, coupled with an insane amount of speed and skill with the puck, could make for a truly great player.

In the future, Holloway should be an integral part of the Blues. He fits this system so smoothly, and that first line of Holloway, Jordan Kyrou, and Robert Thomas can be a lethal trio for a long time.

Going into the playoffs this season, the Blues are going to be fighting to the very end. These last 11 games will all be must-win games, and Holloway has to keep up his hot streak. This career year has helped the Blues set themselves up for a sneaky postseason appearance, and out of the thought that this is an average team at best.
