The St. Louis Blues had three representatives joining their home countries to play in the Olympic Games in Milano Cortina next month. Today, a fourth Blue will be making the trip and playing in the best-on-best tournament.

Pius Suter, who has been on the Injured Reserve list since December 27, was selected to play for his home country of Switzerland in next month's games. Suter appeared in 37 games so far this season, with seven goals and seven assists.

Good sign for recovery

This is a great sign for the Blues, as it means that Suter will be rejoining his team soon with this announcement. The Olympics are scheduled for the beginning of next month, and I doubt that he won't get a couple of reps in before playing for his country.

Suter is a key member of this team, and his absence has been sorely missed. Especially in the center group, with Nick Bjugstad also sidelined as well. Otto Stenberg has been a nice call-up from Springfield, and in a short time in the NHL, he has been adequate, replacing Suter.

This makes four Olympians for the Blues during these Olympic Games. Suter joins Jordan Binnington and Colton Parayko for Team Canada and Philip Broberg for Sweden. Not a bad look considering the current standing of the team. The hope is that after the Games have finished, each of these four players will return to their NHL squad and help push this team into the playoffs.

Good luck to Suter, and each of the Olympians representing the Blue Note.
