The Trade Deadline is fast approaching, and there are plenty of deals either in the works or completed already. With that said, the St. Louis Blues have been very busy as their fire sale continues to catch the attention of the NHL's featured buyers.
According to The Fourth Period, it seems like the Detroit Red Wings are in need of some blue line help and might be interested in using this trading frenzy to fill that gap. One Blues defenseman is mentioned as a possible target, but much less than another. But, why not entertain this and see if it would make sense for both teams to move right-handed defensman, Justin Faulk?

Why not Faulk?
Faulk has been a sturdy defenseman on a very suspect defensive core for the Blues this season. He has been fantastic on the offensive end and has been more reliable than not defensively. At 33-years-old, will be 34 in two weeks, and there are no signs of slowing down with the puck on his stick.
The Red Wings need some help on the defensive side, and in particular, on the right side. With Tyler Myers, Mackenzie Weeger, and, in principle, Colton Parayko, the next biggest name is Faulk and Rasmus Ristolainen from Philadelphia.
Faulk costs a bit more than Ristolainen, but Detroit might want his playoff experience; Ristolainen has never played a playoff game. The Atlantic Division is a tight race, and the Red Wings have a good chance of making it into the Playoffs and need a reliable defenseman who can handle that kind of pressure. Faulk fits the bill perfectly with his 45 games of experience with Carolina and St. Louis.
Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong has been very stingy with his returns, but for what the Red Wings will get in Faulk, it might be worth it. And for the Blues, this is another crucial step in the right direction, as this team enters the rebuilding, or retooling, stage.
Will Faulk be moved to Detroit?
